A wood dust collector or central vacuum system can easily collect all dust from machines in an industrial complex. With a 60 cm diameter inlet, multiple branches can be connected to cover numerous machines. Imagine a scenario where a large volume of dust from 10 woodworking machines is simultaneously fed into a fan. In this case, some of the very fine micron-sized particles enter the motor and bearings, reducing the bearing’s lifespan. Additionally, some of the coarser dust particles collide with the impeller, throwing it out of balance. This, in the long run, causes the fan to vibrate and eventually damages the motor. Finally, the excessive amount of dust reduces the motor’s speed, consequently decreasing the suction power of the device.

In a negative pressure system, like the havapad, all incoming dust is first filtered and then discharged. Clean air then passes through the fan. This approach maintains higher suction power while reducing maintenance costs for the motor, bearings, and impeller.

More important than the suction power of any vacuum cleaner is the consistency of that suction. A central wood vacuum might initially boast a very high suction power, but after just a few weeks of use, it can experience a severe drop in suction, reducing its power to as little as one-third of its original capacity. The reason for this is the buildup of a thick layer of dust (dust cake) on the filters, which prevents the clean air from exiting the vacuum.

To prevent this suction loss in jet filters, self-cleaning filter systems are commonly used. Some systems employ vibration to clean the filters, typically cleaning about 33% of the filter pores. Other systems utilize air pulses, similar to a forceful sneeze, to blast compressed air into the filters. This method can clean up to 99% of the filter pores.

In vacuum cleaners, personnel often spend a lot of time changing bags, which not only takes up a lot of manpower but also requires the vacuum cleaner to be turned off during emptying, meaning that the production line must be stopped for a while.

In  havapad central vacuum systems, dust extraction can be automated, either by transferring dust to large jumbo bags or directly into a prefabricated chamber. In both cases, there is no need to shut down the vacuum system, as extraction occurs while the machine is operating.   1. Preventing wood dust accumulation and reducing the risk of fire

All wood dust entering the central vacuum system is immediately removed by a rotary valve and discharged into large jumbo bags or a separate chamber. This significantly reduces the risk of fire within the machine. If a spark enters the system along with the wood dust, there is no danger to the equipment as the dust cools and is safely discharged, eliminating the fire hazard.

In traditional vacuum systems, wood dust accumulates inside the machine, creating a dust vortex that clogs filters with each use. This reduces suction power and shortens filter life.
